U.S. Constitution
I redesigned the United States Constitution for a young reader as part of a typography course during graduate school. The design needed to convey the strength and importance the United States Constitution demands, while remaining readable and approachable.
To achieve this, I typeset the Constitution in Bodoni, a modern typeface in the Didone family. Bodoni was originally designed by Giambattista Bodoni in the late eighteenth century. The titles and heads are typeset in Futura, a geometric typeface. The design is playful and engaging, with elements such as the stars surrounding the page numbers, while still conveying the historical significance of the Constitution. The design also draws inspiration from the American flag, with the blue elements in Old Glory Blue (100/87/37/51) and the red elements in Old Glory Red (8/100/77/1).
