YPFP Branding
As part of a capstone project for grad school, my design team was paired with Young Professionals in Foreign Policy to rebrand the organization. Our design team took a deep look at YPFP’s website, style guide, marketing deck, social media channels, and various other materials. Once we conducted this initial research, we met with YPFP’s president to learn about the nonprofit’s history and the vision for YPFP moving forward.
From our research, we identified three areas of improvement for YPFP, creating a 42-page style and process guide for the organization that details everything from logo usage to colors to imagery to typography. We also created templates for fliers, social media advertisements, newsletter headers, and much more.

As we redesigned the logo for YPFP, we explored concepts around the idea of connectivity and conversation, with the goal of conveying YPFP’s mission of amplifying young voices. The new logo features two overlapping speech bubbles, specifically a blue in front of a yellow bubble, representing an ongoing conversation. The shape is recognizably a speech bubble, however we chose to round two corners opposite of one another, mimicking the rounded edge of the P in the organization’s name. The speech bubble point elongates the stem of the F. This provides space to the left to display the organization’s full name when necessary, or other text, like a specific location of a branch or hub. In the one-color versions, we removed the background speech bubble for a crisper appearance. We also created a compact version of the logo to fit nicely in vertical and square spaces, social media profile images and as the website’s favicon.
To further serve the organization, we developed other items to strengthen their brand, including:
- webpage mockup
- website inventory
- social media headers
- social media inventory
- flier templates
- newsletter header templates
- stationary items
- promotional items
- branded video introduction
